I avoid scratching my head (even when its really itchy) when driving with someone tailgating lest they think I’m giving them the finger even though I probably really want to give them the finger. I once gave another driver the finger and then nearly got driven off the road. My wife didn’t like us being nearly driven off the road so I started giving people the “thumbs’ up” instead.
